Architectural Job Captain - Multifamily, Residential

Job Title:  Architectural Job Captain – Multifamily, Residential

Location:   West Los Angeles, California

Job Description:   We are seeking an accomplished full-time Architectural Job Captain for our West Los Angeles office, with experience in multi-family housing building types. Qualified candidates should be aspirational and familiar with the building type, technologies, and applicable codes, able to work effectively as part of an overall design team, and experienced with Revit/ACAD programs.

This is intended to be a long-term position and an opportunity to develop one’s career in a highly professional setting.

Job Requirements: 

The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  •         Mastery of Revit software – 3 years’ experience
  •         Proficient in AutoCAD
  •         Full-time experience with Residential Type III and V Mixed Use
  •         Degree in Architecture; Licensed or Licensure Track
  •         Ability to grow into future Project Architect/Manager Role
  •         Willing and able to help lead other team members

Hospitality Studio Director

Job Title: Hospitality Studio Director

Location:   West Los Angeles, California

Job Description: The Studio Director is the “face” of the studio, responsible for its vision, financial success and technical and design excellence, providing oversight and administration for all activities within the studio. The Studio Director instills enthusiasm in the work environment, establishes and demonstrates high standards, and actively contributes to corporate goals, culture and development of the firm. The Studio Director will assume leadership for the Hospitality Studio.

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  •         Minimum 15 years of professional experience
  •         Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •         Excellent Business Development skills and experience

Responsibilities: 

Leadership and Oversight

  • Responsible for overall leadership and culture of the studio, contributes same to the firm
  • Communicates goals, philosophy, and ensures positive growth
  • Oversees studio staff
  • Responsible for effective communication and information disbursement within studio
  • Accumulates, organizes and understands all policies and procedures of the firm, implements these standards within the studio
  • Develops growth opportunities, trains and mentors staff
  • Assists with employee evaluations

Financial Management of Studio

  • Responsible for the financial performance of the Studio as well as any other  lead domestic projects
  • Oversees billing and collections
  • Approves/prepares all agreements and contracts
  • Oversees and monitors project work plans to assure positive financial performance
  • Participates in monthly collections/status reports meetings
  • Assists with project-related legal issues
  • Oversees staffing demands and allocation
  • Recommends bonuses, salary adjustments, and staff promotions

Architectural Management of Studio

  • Contributes to design related issues and encourages high standards of design quality
  • Leads planning and production efforts for designated project and product types
  • Responsible for overall quality of contract documents, including review of drawings with project managers and staff
  • Coordinates with project managers regarding selection of consultants

Business Development Responsibilities 

  • Is the primary Client contact with the studio, and is responsible for bringing work to the studio
  • Leads marketing and business development efforts, attends conferences and events as necessary to support such efforts
  • In conjunction with the Business Development Director, establishes and works to an annual marketing budget
  • Promotes visibility of the office within the market sector
  • Coordinates with Business Development Director on strategies for growth

Travel

  • Managing projects will require travel between Nadel offices and to domestic destinations where potential projects develop.
