Job Title:  Multifamily/Mixed-Use Studio Director

 

Location:   Scottsdale, AZ

 

Job Description:   Nadel Architects is seeking an experienced Multifamily/Mixed-Use Studio Director to develop and lead a Multifamily/Mixed-Use Studio in our Scottsdale, Arizona office. The Studio Director will cultivate a culture of innovation, high standards, and enthusiasm while driving growth and business development to meet corporate goals. This role is responsible for the overall financial success, technical and design excellence, and strategic direction of the studio, acting as the face of the firm in the industry

This is intended to be a long-term position and an opportunity to develop one’s career in a highly professional setting.

 

Job Requirements: 

The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • 15+ years of professional experience in architecture, design, or a related field

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering a positive work environment

  • Proven experience in business development, client management, and marketing

  • Strong understanding of financial management within a studio or project-based environment

  • Travel between studio locations and domestic project sites as well as to and from industry events, conferences, and meetings as needed

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Lead the studio's operations, promoting a strong team culture and aligning with the firm's goals and values

  • Communicate and implement strategic objectives and design vision across the studio

  • Mentor and develop staff, overseeing employee performance and growth opportunities

  • Ensure high standards of design quality in all projects, overseeing planning, production, and review processes

  • Manage relationships with consultants and ensure contract documents meet firm standards

  • Oversee the financial performance of the studio, including billing, collections, and contract approvals

  • Monitor project work plans to ensure financial goals are met and manage staffing allocations

  • Handle project-related legal matters

  • Serve as the primary client contact, leading efforts to bring new projects to the studio

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance the studio's visibility and expand its client base

The Senior Project Manager is the backbone of the project team as the point person for decision making and all project related issues. On smaller projects the Senior Project Manager may assume the duties of the Project Architect

Job Requirements: 

The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit a must

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Overall direction, coordination and implementation and execution, control, and completion of projects

  • Protection of the firm through adherence to firm strategy, commitments, policies, and goals

  • Diligent management of projects' daily status

  • Maintenance of project files, trains staff to maintain project files

  • Adherence to execution of design intent, working with design staff and Client to produce optimal design results

  • Assisting Client through all project phases

Qualified candidates are responsible for preparing a set of working drawings and specifications with minimal guidance from a Project Manager. The Senior Job Captain decides the format and content of the drawings and is responsible for the entirety of contract documents

Job Requirements: 

The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit a must

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • 8-10 years in Retail Architecture

  • Ability to grow professionally

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Detailed knowledge of all applicable current building codes

  • Delegation of work and mentoring of drafting/CAD staff with regard to architectural interpretation, CAD/Revit standards and practices

  • Coordination of working drawings and specifications within the project team, including consultants

  • General understanding of project budgeting and time management

  • Administration of construction documents, and adherence to firm standards

  • Maintain organized project files

  • Filing for and maintaining building permits

  • Oversight, coordination, and production of contract documents (drawings and specifications)
